South Central Seminar in the History of Early Modern Philosophy
The eleventh annual meeting of the South Central Seminar in the History of Early Modern Philosophy will be held Friday-Saturday, October 23-24, 2009, at the University of Texas, San Antonio. Like similar seminars in other parts of the country, the South Central Seminar is an informal group designed to foster interaction among scholars working on topics in the history of early modern people.

Saturday evening is free for visiting San Antonio’s famed Riverwalk.
All sessions will be held on
the campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio in Room 1.208 of the Main Building
(click for campus map). Although there is no registration fee
for the seminar, we ask that you register for the seminar and indicate your intention to attend the seminar

Accommodations are available at the
Staybridge Suites near La Cantera, on the north side of Loop 1604 at Chase Hill Blvd, about 1/2 mile from
the building where we will meet, for $85/night (1 or 2 persons). To receive this reduced rate, call
the hotel directly (210-691-3443) no later than October 1 and tell them you are making a reservation for one
of the UTSA Philosophy (code PHI) block rooms. Rooms in this block include your choice of one or two queen beds.
There is no shuttle to and from the hotel from the San Antonio airport, but taxis are
available for the 20-minute trip for about $30. Depending on arrival times, you might be able to arrange to join other
participants for a taxi or van trip to the hotel or campus. To coordinate such plans, contact
Jill Hernandez. A hotel shuttle is available for participants to and from the Business Building on campus.
Participants should plan to arrive in time for the beginning of the seminar on Friday at 3:00.
