We also observed this bat alighting to capture moths and crickets from the desert floor.

Dr. Patton and Dr. Schlitter discussing the biology of the bats with the students. We netted a total of 40 individual bats representing 3 families (Vespertilionidae, Mollosidae, and Mormoopidae), six genera, and 8 species. This was the result of three nights of netting. Dr. Tom Lee from Abilene Christian University netted one night and we netted two nights.

Eumops perotis, Caught over the Rio Grande.

Notice the distinct size difference between the two.
