About Me

Howdy!

Welcome to my website. My Name is Dallas Coggins. I'm a Junior Computer Science Major with a Minor in Game Design and Development and Cybersecurity at Texas A&M.

My goal is to enhance and expand my knowledge about Computer Science in a way that affords me the best possible abilities and opportunities in software development, so I can eventually work on software that directly impacts and benefits people.

At the forefront of my mind in everything I work on, is my desire to have my passion and effort shine through.

I have engaged in some sort of programming since 7th grade. Specifically, I have worked with Java, Python, and C# on various projects both in class and outside of class. I've worked on a variety of projects involving programming both inside and outside the classroom, both independently and on a team. During my senior year of high school, I decided to use my time in a self-study course to work on a game in Unity. My experience doing so taught me how to self-manage my own schedule, learn new concepts on my own, and apply programming in a new context.

I created six games with a team of three to four other people as a part of six different game jams. I served as a lead designer and one of the two main programmers for the team. You can learn more about them on my Portfolio page.
I am also the treasurer for the Texas Aggie Game Developers club at A&M.
I am a national merit finalist, and recipient of the President's Endowed Scholarship, National merit recognition scholarship, and CJ Red Davidson scholarship.

I aim to use the skills I have gained to maximize my impact on the world.
