ABOUT
ME
I
am Italian. I grew up in a small town of about 3000 people, in the beautiful Abruzzo region. I am a first
generation college graduate. All members of my family (except for my husband
and kids) still live in Abruzzo.
My
husband, Jonathan
Brunstedt, is an Associate Professor in the
History Department at TAMU, specializing in modern Russia and Eastern Europe. His
first book - The
Soviet Myth of World War II: Patriotic Memory and the Russian Question in the
USSR (Cambridge University Press) – has been selected by Foreign
Affairs as one of its “Best Books of the Year.”
Jonathan
and I met during my “fresher’s week” at St. Antony’s
College, at the University of Oxford (UK), where we both pursued our graduate
degrees. We have two cats: Attila (born in 2017) and Arnold (born in 2020). We
also have two sons: Alexander (born in 2014) and Nicholas (born in 2018).
Here is a photo of my
family (minus the cats), taken at the Grand Canyon in July 2022.
