Welcome!  I am a PhD student in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering here at Texas A&M.  I am also a career Army officer.  I graduated from West Point in 1988, earned a masters degree from Texas A&M in 1998, and now I'm back again thanks to those of you who pay taxes in the U.S.A.

My favorite teams are the Aggies and the Army Team (not necessarily in that order!).

Brief Biography

Born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the "Home of the Airborne", on December 1, 1966, I was destined for the Army and things military.  As an Army brat (Dad was USMA class of '61), I moved throughout my childhood, but eventually graduated from Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia in 1984.  Six weeks later, I entered West Point with the class of 1988.  I graduated on time and was commissioned in the Field Artillery.  After OBC and Ranger School, I reported to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado where I served in 1/29 FA and 5/29 FA as a FIST officer, FDO, and platoon leader.  In 1991, I branch transferred to the Transportation Corps and was fortunate to move into the HET platoon leader and XO slot in B Company, 704th MSB.  Moving to Fort Eustis, Virginia for the advanced course, my wife and I decided to ask to stay there after OAC.  The Army agreed to let us, and I served in the 10th Transportation Battalion (Terminal) as S4 and HHC commander, deploying to Egypt and Haiti in the process.  After command I taught new lieutenants in Transportation OBC for a year before heading off to graduate school at Texas A&M.  After completing my masters degree in industrial engineering, I reported to the Department of Mathematical Sciences at West Point where I did research and taught for three years.  Following my tour at West Point, I was assigned as an operations research analyst at Combined Arms Support Command at Fort Lee, Virginia where I worked on future logistical concepts for the Army.  Meanwhile, the Department of Mathematical Sciences offered me the opportunity to pursue a PhD at Texas A&M and return to West Point afterwards.  So that's the plan I'm working on right now.
