Books Published
Advanced Microeconomics, China Renmin University Press, 2016 (in Chinese). Based on the lecture notes at TAMU, it has been developed over the past ten years with numerous revisions and nearly doubled contents (more than 1,100 pages). This book embraces various fields and the recent development of microeconomic theory, including dynamic mechanism design theory, auction theory, matching theory, etc. It fills the vacancy of Chinese elements, and advocates pursuing academics with deep thoughts and for deep thoughts.
China's Reform: History, Logic and Future, (with Xudong Chen), China CITIC Press, 2014 (in Chinese). This book was awarded the highest honor in economic science in China (Sun Yefang award) in 2015. It provides a panoramic view and systematic analysis of the outline, difficulties and trends of China’s reform by use of the basic principles and analytical framework of modern economics in general and mechanism design in particular.

Bio: Dr. Guoqiang Tian, Alfred F. Chalk Professor of Economics, is an economic theorist with broad theoretical interests focusing on mechanism design theory, game theory, auction theory, matching theory, mathematical economics, economic transition and Chinese economy. He is currently working on mechanism design in various settings including optimal and dynamic contract design, the existence of Nash equilibrium in discontinuous games, auction with participant costs, matching issues, full characterization on fixed-point theorems and related theorems, and China's reform. Professor Tian is a recipient of the 2015 Sun Yefang Award -- the highest honor in economic science in China for his book "China's Reform: History, Logic and Future", and the Annual Great Thinker award by the China Business Network in 2016. He is a National Special-Term expert of China, and serves as Editor of Frontiers of Economics in China and Co-editor of Annals of Economics and Finance.
