Computing Facilities

The Systems Optimization and Multiscale Analysis group has access to two high performance computing systems at Texas A&M University. Detailed information on the facilities is shown below.

  • X86 Cluster:
    • This cluster, Ada, contains over 850 nodes providing over 17,000 cores which contain no less that 64GB and up to 2048GB of memory.
    • A global file system with 3 PB of storage is provided.
    • Information regarding this cluster can be seen here.
  • Workstations:
    • The group is equipped with more than 10 Dell Optiplex 9020 workstations: i7-4770 3.4 GHz Turbo, Quad Core, 8GB DDR3 memory, running Springdale PUIAS, for exclusive use of the group members. It has also 3 with Dell Windows 9020 workstations: Intel i7-4770 3.4 GHz Turbo, Quad Core, 8GB DDR3 memory, running Microsoft Windows 7.
  • Scientific Software:
    • The group has access to various scientific, commercial and open-source software packages for process simulation (gPROMS, Aspen Plus, MATLAB), optimization (GAMS with CPLEX, CONOPT, BARON, ANTIGONE, and DICOPT solvers), molecular simulation (RASPA, MCCCS Towhee), and data analysis, management and development (c++, python, Wordom, gnuplot, etc.).
