Ashfaq Iftakher

Short Bio

Ashfaq is a first-year Ph.D. student at Texas A&M University. He joined the Hasan research group in Spring 2021. He completed BSc and MSc in Chemical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. His primary research interest lies in mathematical modeling, process synthesis, optimization, intensification, and control. During his master's, he has worked on the integrated design and control of reactive distillation systems. During undergrad, he worked on modeling stiction compensator for control valves. Outside academic studies and research, Ashfaq enjoys contest programming, playing chess and football, and reading astronomy.
