Scientists PORTHOLE

Meet Neomi, our icon that represents the perspective of "scientists in training" who are visiting this website. Imagine Neomi will be your guide to explore the materials for students who have decided on a career track in science.

Neomi is a graduate student who discovered the joys of scientific inquiry as an undergrad and wants to encourage other undergrads to become researchers. Neomi's circle of friends include her mentors (established scientists), her peers (other graduate students) and the interns who she is mentoring on her graduate research project. Neomi aspires to write her own grant proposals for the studies she wants to conduct and to publish her results in peer reviewed journals. Her role models are scientists in academia, non-governmental organizations, state and federal agencies.

If you can relate to Neomi's science perspective, look for the tips she provides on this website. The links on the left menu bar on her pages will direct you to the information most relevant to you.
