Our team performs both theoretical and applied work in the area of optimization, decision making and planning of operational systems. Our research aims at enhancing models and methodologies for operational optimization, decision making and planning by creating novel models that explicitly consider important aspects of real industrial systems, and designing efficient procedures to solve large-scale problems. Our applied work is aimed at helping companies achieve strategic financial goals through operational execution excellence and optimal allocation of company resources to the achievements its strategic goals.
Our methodological approaches combine tools from the fields of operations research, management sciences and artificial intelligence including: mathematical programming, combinatorial optimization, data analytics, simulation, probabilistic search, and heuristics.
Our projects are sponsored by both private and governmental entities. We have experience in the contexts of strategic operations optimization and planning, supply chains, production and inventory planning, intelligent manufacturing systems, and energy-water systems, among others.
