Applications are now open.
About the Program
The Potomac Summer Institute is a week-long educational experience in Washington, DC. The 2017 session will be led by Professor Joe Ura. Students will interact with elected and appointed public officials, government staff members, lobbyists, policy researchers, and journalists to improve their understanding of applied politics in the nation's capital. Participating students will receive credit for 3.0 hours for POLS 306.
The travel fee for the Potomac Summer Institute is $2,910. This includes airfare, lodging, and some meals. It does not include tuition, university fees, or other personal expenses.
Eligiblity and Applications
The Potomac Summer Institute is open to all continuing students in good standing at Texas A&M. Interested students may download an application here or pickup a hard copy in the political science advising office (Allen 2024). Completed applications should be turned in to the political science advising office or to Professor Jor Ura (Allen 2117). Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Space is limited, though, and students may only register for the program through the Department of Political Science.
