I am an Associate Editor of Communication Monograph. I also serve on the editorial board of several journals, such as Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Health Communication, Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, and Asian Journal of Communication.  

I have been playing a leadership role in Chinese Communication Association, an international academic organization dedicated to the study of communication in China and among Chinese communities outside of China. I have been elected to serve as the Vice President of CCA between 2021 and 2023. In addition, I was the Finance Committee Chair, and Research Co-chair for CCA’s panels at the annual NCA conference in the past 4 years. In addition, I also served as the moderator and panelists for CCA’s Solidarity Symposia on Research, Teaching, and Politics during COVID-19. One of the panels drew more than 700 attendants.  I received the Chinese Communication Association Outstanding Service Award in 2017.
