More about outreach activities

Mathematics and Statistics Fair. The Mathematics and Statistics Departments host an annual fair to showcase the fun and beauty of our fields. For the 2022 edition I designed an activity to craft random sierpinski gaskets.

The Kenya Workshop. I had the oportunity to speak in the first edition of this workshop in August 2021. This event was initiated by Abdulahi Maxamed from Nairobi, Kenya, with the aim to offer aspiring African STEM teens first-hand information about what to expect from pursuing studies in STEM.

Summer Educational Enrichment in Math. Since 2020 I have been participating in this program that our department offers to school children. In 2021 I directed an activity using Markov chains and Tik-Tok.

MathColabora. Is a pilot project with an educational focus where undergraduate students meet to learn and discuss math topics beyond the regular curriculum. In Spring 2021 we met over zoom to talk about Fractals, dimension, Markov chains and steady states.
