Graduate Program The Ph.D. program in cognitive psychology is aimed at educating and training students who are interested in pursuing research at the very highest levels of academic scholarship. Most of the students completing their Ph.D. in cognitive psychology left to take academic positions at the university level. The program at Texas A&M University offers training in a broad range of areas of cognitive psychology, including categorization & concepts, creative cognition, cognitive development, language, memory, and metacognition. In addition, a number of faculty outside of the cognitive psychology area, including neuroscience, philosophy, educational psychology, computer science, and mechanical engineering, participate in collaborative research efforts with cognitive faculty and students. Students interested in applying to the Ph.D. program are encouraged to contact the coordinator of the Cognitive Training Program (Dr. J. Vaid, jxv@psyc.tamu.edu) or any member of the cognitive program. |
