Right now, I’m looking forward to my graduation from the University of Texas A&M with a B.S. in Horticultural Science with a Science and Biotechnology emphasis. My experience in school has helped hone my  drive and skills to explore the natural world I find so fascinating. Outside of academia I’m a proud owner of a two year old Catahoula Leopard dog, and an avid disc golfer. I also enjoy weight lifting and racket ball in the time I spend outside of my labs and classroom.    

    Being from Houston (a very flat place) I leap at every chance to get into the hill country of Texas to go hiking and this spring break I’ll be snowboarding in Keystone, Colorado. I find that strenuous activity, especially more extreme sports like snowboarding and rock climbing, clear the mind and wake up the body. I love to mountain bike at Memorial Park and run along the bayou when I’m visiting back home. I’ve found my hobbies invigorate my zeal for my work on the exciting projects you can learn about by clicking on my Current Projects link at the top of the page.
