Ayodele "Ayo" Aina

Howdy! My name is Ayo Aina, and I'm a senior at Texas A&M University, majoring in Political Science with minors in Business and Cybersecurity. I am also pursuing the Certificate in Applied Ethical Leadership from the Hollingsworth Center for Ethical Leadership and the Cyber Operations Certificate. Beyond academics, I actively serve in the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and plan to commission as a cyber officer in the United States Coast Guard upon graduation in December 2026. My passion lies in software engineering, with a particular interest in frontend development and cloud technologies. I’ve had the privilege of interning with Amazon as part of the Amazon Future Engineer Program in 2023, where I built functional APIs using frameworks like Smithy. This role exposed me to technologies such as SQL, Git, Java, JavaScript, and backend services, enhancing my technical expertise. Currently, I continue to engage in projects involving HTML/CSS, React, Ruby, Angular, SQL, and C++, expanding my skillset and passion for problem-solving through technology.

DPLand

Created in January 2022, DPLand is an online tutoring and revision hub for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). Created as part my own IB Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) project, its mission was to democratize knowledge for all, an especially our collegues in IB. I implemented a system of tutoring utilizing volunteer tutors as well as integrated a resource system for all the courses and requirements within the IBDP program.

Andy's Automotive Website

Over Winter Break in 2024, I developed and launched a user-friendly website for Andy's Automotive, a College Station-based faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to serving low-income families and single mothers. This project aimed to improve accessibility to the organization’s services, making it easier for the community to learn about and benefit from its noble mission.

anth205

I conceptualized and managed an innovative online platform designed to support students enrolled in ANTH 205 (Peoples and Cultures of the World) at Texas A&M University. The platform was created to enhance student engagement and academic performance by providing easy access to essential resources. Key features included the ability to access lecture audio recordings, review past tests, and revisit assignments, offering a comprehensive toolkit for academic success catering to the diverse needs of the student body.

Corps of Cadets Ribbon Rack Builder

I designed an innovative platform to assist cadets at Texas A&M University in personalizing and properly arranging their earned ribbons and decorations. The platform was developed to ensure adherence to military standards while offering tailored guidance throughout the design process, helping cadets accurately display their achievements. With a user-friendly interface tailored for a cadet population of over 2,300, the platform streamlined the creation of complete ribbon racks. By focusing on both precision and ease of use, it provided an efficient solution to meet the needs of cadets and uphold the traditions of the Corps.

AgTern

I served as a member and later frontend lead of a team led by a project manager in the Aggie Coding Club, where we made an application to find internship postings tailored for Aggies and ready to be distributed and shared with the student body. Based on a student profile (major, graduation date, industry interests, etc.), it retrieves scraped internships that are most relevant to the student. My largest contributions have been the modularization of components of the Angular framework components as well as the creation of a new UI mockup to be implemented. I also assisted in the implementation of Google OAuth on the backend.

SyllabiSurplus

SyllabiSurplus is a full-stack web application that will act as a centralized repository for all Texas A&M University (TAMU) course syllabi. Its goal is to streamline students’ access to course syllabi, assisting with course planning, academic expectations, and transparent curriculum management. The platform is geared toward benefiting TAMU students, faculty, and advisors by simplifying syllabus retrieval and reference.
