Supporting The Right Causes

I endorse on the sharing and access of information and technology. I believe that regardless of your background, everyone should have the same right to use the incredible technologies the world offers. Regardless of your position in this world, there should be some method to give you access to a computer and enter the wonderful world of computing and technology. Thus, many of the organizations I support endorse this mentality and I wish to further assist on their quest for free access.

A list of some organizations I support

freeCodeCamp.org is a non-profit organization that has recorded and uploaded more than 9,000 tutorials related on computer science. Apart from tutorials, freeCodeCamp.org offers multiple courses that vary from developing basic Python skills up to understanding and implementing machine learning models. freeCodeCamp has a special place in my heart since their organization is the first place I go if I decide to learn more about a certain topic.

Colorstack aims to help Black and Latino computer science students to graduate and get a job in the United States. They create workshops, networking events, conventions, and many other professional events for Black and Latino students to get a higher possibility on getting hired. In a field such as computer science, I do not see many Latinos in my classes. Therefore, Colorstack did gave me a nice sense of belonging, there are many Latinos across the nation as interested with Computer Science as me and I really like that.

Khan Academy, similarly to freeCodeCamp.org, is a non-profit organization which provides multiple courses on various fields on science, mathematics and engineering. Their courses in mathematics specially, have helped me understand multiple concepts I heavily use now in data science and back-end development. While Khan Academy is not focused on code precisely, the organization provides courses detremental to build a strong foundation in computer science.
