About the Computing Through Time Cartoons

Since February 2018, Computing Through Time has appeared as a regular cartoon series in IEEE Computer Magazine -- first as a bi-monthly feature and, since July 2023, as a monthly one. Over the years, the series has grown to more than 60 published cartoons, each blending history, technology, and humor to illuminate how computing has evolved and how it shapes our world. These cartoons are not only entertaining; they are also citable. Several of them, including widely shared panels on artificial intelligence, have already been referenced in academic papers, talks, and classroom materials. Whether you are a researcher, educator, student, or simply curious about the culture and history of computing, this collection invites you to explore complex ideas through accessible visual storytelling.
