Hey! I'm Ethan Rutt, an Engineer. Being an Engineer can come with some stereotypes. Engineers are normally seen as quiet, unsociable, bad communicators, etc. These traits stem from some truth, but that's not what Engineering is about. Engineering is actually about communication, especially Software Engineering. Not only do we have to communicate with whatever system we are working on, but also with each other. Not only do I bring technical knowledge, professionalism, and time management to the table, but I also bring excellent communication skills. I have racked up over $70,000 in kitchen knife sales, ran my own business and sales team, worked on a professional engineering team, and excelled in my studies throughout my time at A&M. With all of these other skills, I'm proud to say that my technical competency is not lacking. My GPA, projects, and internship experience show that I can be a great communicator and a great engineer, and that these traits are not mutually exclusive. I also have hobbies outside of school and my career that I've stuck with since I was a kid. I am currently an officer of the A&M Judo Club, having received my black belt in May of 2023 after over 15 years of experience on the mat. I also play three instruments: piano, guitar, and alto saxophone, and I have won state-level awards with all three instruments. But most importantly to me, I am family-oriented. My biggest goal in life is to succeed, fail, and acquire as much experience as I can so that I can become a strong person and a strong father. I want to build and support a family, and I see everything that I've accomplished so far as a stepping stone towards my life goal. But hey, that's just a little bit about me.
