I started Judo, a Japanese martial art, when I was 5 years old. 2 years later, I began wrestling. These sports taught me many lessons, including discipline, hard work, and how to lose with dignity. As I get older, I find it very important to pass these lessons down to other people, both older and younger. I plan to keep practicing Judo and wrestling, and to volunteer and coach youth classes whenever I get the chance to. I also volunteer at tournaments whenever I get the chance, including A&M's very own Go Shibata Judo Tournament

My Junior and Senior year of high school, I had a connection with a preschool in Austin. I would go downtown to this preschool on Sunday afternoon and help their janitor with various tasks. I cleaned rugs, tables, rooms, and other things, as well as helped him move heavy stuff around.

Helped kids have tidy areas, and lessened the workload for the janitor.

My church participates in the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child every year around Christmastime. My family and I would join and help pack christmas presents with various toys and other essentials for kids in Africa. We would spend a couple hours sometime in October/November packing hundreds of presents for those in need.
