Math. 311 Fall 1998 HOMEWORK SUMMARY REPORT Week number: 9 Problem number: 5.5.8 Number of papers received: 4 Reviewing committee (Greek letter): theta List all participating members: Thomas Smaistrla James Skoruppa Author[s] of paper[s] chosen for publication: Chris Romero Comments: INSTRUCTOR'S COMMENT: The grader and I decided to publish James Reese's paper too. Neither is perfect, and they are somewhat complementary. There seems to be some confusion about where tangent and normal vectors are plotted. They should be drawn with THE POINT CONCERNED as the origin, not at the original origin of the cartesian coordinate system. (Think of them as representing velocities, forces, etc., acting on a particle at that point.)
