Comments: It seems like everybody had a lot of trouble with this
problem.
INSTRUCTOR'S COMMENT: The main point is to distinguish between (1) the
derivative with respect to x regarded as a PARAMETER ON THE CURVE
(equivalent to t) and (2) the PARTIAL derivative with respect to x with y
fixed. "Straight" d's should be used for (1), "curly" ones for (2).
