Comments:
This problem was mostly understood by all students attempting this
problem. A completely correct solution was provided by Stacy Lodden. One
paper had difficulty calculating $A_0$ on both parts by including an extra
factor of $\frac{1}{H}$, but was otherwise correct on part (a). In part
(d) there was a more serious problem. The boundary condition $u(x,H)=0$
was, incorrectly, supposed to lead to the separate condition
$\frac{\partial u}{\partial y}(x,H) = 0$. However, with this assumption,
the problem is done correctly. Without this assumption, this problem leads
to the conlcusion that only odd values of $n$ are permissible in the
solution.
The recommendation of the reviewing team is that Stacy Lodden prepare her
solution for publication by either converting it into \LaTeX\ or
rewriting it more darkly in order to be scanned.
