Comments:
We weren't able to view the solution you sent to us so we weren't
completely sure that our grading was correct; however, it seemed that
Stacy was not entirely sure as to how the problem should be solved. James
did better but still had problems imposing the initial conditions.
GRADER'S COMMENTS: I disagree. Stacy's paper is closer to the right
answer (the only paper in the last two assignments that came close to
being publishable outright). Remember: (1) When \lamda = 0, the radial
solutions are powers, not Bessel functions. (2) The denominator in a
coefficient formula is an integral, or a number that is the result of an
integral, not another function of the coordinates.
