[The reviewing group had trouble operating the hreview program (partly
because of missing e-mail addresses of some authors). They submitted
their summary report "by hand".]
Summary:
Most people have the right solution for part A; it's part B that
most people had a problem with. For part B, one starts with the general
solution for the wave equation:
w(x,t)=F(x-ct)+G(x+ct), then use the given transform --
u(p,t)=(1/p)*w(p,t)
to put the general form in the terms of u instead of w.
We have decided that Angela Sung's solution to problem 12.3.6 is
the easiest to read, and has correct answers for part A and B.
