L1-based techniques are emerging in different fields of applied sciences. The objective of the workshop is to gather leading experts that are possibly unaware of each other's activity so that they exchange ideas and get a more global view of this new set of methods.The purpose of this workshop is also stimulate cross fertilization. People interested in attending the workshop should contact us directly: Jean-Luc Guermond, Bojan Popov.

Minorities, women, graduate students, and young researchers are especially encouraged to attend.

The venue for the conference is Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. Points of interest include: the Bush Presidential Library, which is only one of half-dozen such libraries in the United States; the campus itself, which is one of the largest in the world; and several nearby sites of historic interest for Texans.
