One of three good Tibetan places within 2 blocks.
Ashenda (Ethiopian)**
On 4th street between Dunn and Grant (in the same building as Puccini’s)—
Vegetarian and
non-vegetarian entrees served on fresh injera
Bear's Place** -- 1316 East 3rd --
Decent pizza, beer.
Bloomington Bagel Company**
-- On Dunn between Kirkwood and 6th --
Excellent homemade bagels. Soup, bialys, bagel sandwiches.
Bombay House (Indian) ** -- On 4th between Dunn and Grant --
Good Indian food. Lunch buffet makes for quick but delicious meal.
Brave New Deli** -- At corner of Dunn and 3rd --
Casablanca Cafe (Moroccan)**** -- At corner of
4th and Grant --
A local favorite. Great food, cozy Middle Eastern atmosphere.
Cafe Django (Tibetan)***

One of the three
Tibetan restaurants in town. Jazz in the evenings.
Chow Bar (Korean) -- Indiana Ave. between 3rd and 4th.
Dragon Express** -- 3rd and Jordan -- Chinese. Fast, inexpensive and usually hopping.

flashbacks.
Michael’s Uptown Cafe***Kirkwood between Washington and Walnut. Cajan. Also, the best breakfast in town.
Nick's English Hut** -- On Kirkwood between Dunn and Grant --
Bloomington landmark. Great pub atmosphere.
Puccini's Ristorante*** -- On 4th between Dunn and Grant --
Fine Italian. A bit pricey.
Rachel’s Cafe--3rd and Lincoln—unrated because it is new.
Runcible Spoon*** -- 6th St. between Dunn and Grant
Bohemian coffee house. Best for breakfast, coffee. Good for lunch.
Siam House (Thai)** -- At corner of 4th and Dunn --
Good lunch buffet.
Shanti (Indian)*** -- Kirkwood and Lincoln --
A slightly more serious dinner venue than Bombay House.
Snow Lion

Bloomington's original Tibetan restaurant. Wear a sweater.

A Greek-American hybrid. Mostly sandwiches and such.

Samira (Afghani)**** -- On the North side of

Authentic dishes, artistic presentation. Canonical destination for colloquium
speakers.
The Bakehouse** -- On the west side
of Courthouse Square
Yuppie deli counter. Good bread (excellent fresh-made bagels), soup and
salads. Free WiFi.
