about me
I
am the Mary Julia and George R. Jordan, Jr. Professor of Public Policy in the Department of Economics at Texas
A&M University, where I am also the department's Director of Undergraduate Programs and Director of Engagement and Outreach. I hold a University Professorship for Undergraduate Teaching Excellence and I am a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. I got my
Ph.D. from the Department
of Economics at
Stanford
University in 2009 and I
graduated from Princeton
University in
2002 with an A.B. in Economics and a certificate in
Applied
&
Computational Mathematics. My research interests include investigating
individuals' decisions - such as whether to make a charitable donation
- and their reasons for making them.
My wife Jennifer and I got married in Seattle on July 5, 2009. Clearly
the better half of the
relationship, she graduated from Stanford with an M.B.A. and a
Masters in Education and now works for IDEA Public Schools. Our son, Eli,
was born in 2011 and our daughter, Naomi, was born in 2013.
I
was a member of
the Princeton
University
Competitive Swimming and Diving Team.
Some of my photographs can be found here. I enjoy cycling (both road and mountain), planting things (especially fruit and roses),
experimenting with cocktails and infusions, and cooking. |
