Qualifications

Here you'll find my resume, and some more about my technical skills and interests.

Skills

My technical skills cover a broad range of languages and frameworks which I've learned through both personal experience and my coursework. I've built a solid foundation in programming with C/C++ and Java, while Python has been my go-to for small personal projects.

My experience with web-development languages like HTML/CSS, Django, and Node.js has allowed me to create dynamic websites with beautiful UI. I’ve even ventured into functional programming with Haskell during my studies. In the backend of my projects, I have gained experience working with databases while using various SQL frameworks such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite.

My time in cybersecurity has led me to gain experience in tools like Ghidra, Nmap, Wireshark, and Metasploit, which I’ve used in various CTFs and projects. I’m comfortable navigating different operating systems including Linux, Mac and Windows. Additionally, my interest in cybersecurity has led me to achieve my CompTIA Network+ and Security+ Certifications, both of which have given me valuable network management and security skills not commonly covered in Computer Science Curriculums.

Interests

While I am passionate about software development, I’ve found that professionally I am more interested in the infrastructure that supports large technology systems, how they’re designed, and how we can protect them. This interest has guided me to focus my academic efforts on networking and cybersecurity, while still pursuing software development through my computer science degree.

The intersection of technological innovation and malicious activity is a field unique to cybersecurity, that motivates me to grow my skill set and learn to defend our networks. I am intrigued by tracking down attackers, analyzing their methods, and understanding their motives. The challenge of outsmarting cybercriminals is a dynamic puzzle that's constantly changing. Tracking the underworld of cyber threats and studying attacks is a permanent learning experience, with each new threat bringing its own set of challenges.

While I’m still unsure of my exact place in the professional field, I am sure that my unique blend of interests and skills will give me the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. As I continue to grow professionally, I look forward to opportunities that let me capitalize on my strengths in both cybersecurity and software development.
