One way that I give back to my community is through mentoring as a Peer Teacher for the CSCE department. When I was a CS student in previous years, I would ask PTs for help on my assignments, so this is my way of giving back. I help students during the lab portion of class in CSCE 121, as well as hold office hours in Peterson 127 for general questions over classes that I have taken. I find it rewarding helping people find solutions to problems that they have been stuck on, because I was in their exact same situation a few years ago and I can relate to both the feelings of despair and success.
Furthermore, I also am the admin for the official TAMU CSCE PT Discord, and help manage the online community. Students can ask and get answers to their questions, as well as attend the weekly reviews we host on Sunday afternoons.
