Participate

Objective 1. Participate regularly in dialogue to clarify knowledge and strengthen communication skills

Learning Activities: To achieve this Participation objective, you may choose the activiites that work best for you. For example, on-campus students will chat in the classroom and distance-ed students will use the elearning chat tool. Attending the optional field trip and sending shared PS messages are other ways to participate. You may mix or match tools. Scenario: Suzi chats in class on week 1 (up to 3 pts), online in week 2 (up to 3 pts), sends a PS message in week 3 (up to 4 pts), for a total of 10 pts in Part 1.

Assessment: In the first week, you will use the elearning Assignment tool to complete and submit the A1 Participate assignment. The points you earn for participation will be tallied here and updated by the end of each of the 4 parts of the course. The cumulative score will be capped at a maximum of 20 points. You are encouraged to continue to participate even after you have earned the maximum possible points. Note that the elearning grade form indicates a total possible points that is higher than 20 points. Due to the mix or max flexibility, you have more than 20 ways to earn 20 points.
