Objective 3. Inquire about the evidence needed to test scientific hypotheses about animal behavior
Learning Activities: Science is a verb, not a noun! To achieve this objective of enhancing your inquiry skills, you will complete two inquiry projects. Designed to stimulate observation and critical thinking, two guided inquiry projects are online at: Natures Partners: predators, prey & you! The benefits of inquiry activities include hands-on learning, motivating fun, and experiences that spark a gut-feeling understanding of scientific concepts covered in the course materials. If you are a graduate student (or wannabe), you will go to the next level and design your own open inquiry project to get graduate credit.
Assessment: To guide and reward you for the inquiry projects, we will use the elearning Assignment tool.. You will upload drafts of each module for feedback and the instructor will return your draft for revision. Plan on 6 weeks to do each guided-, and 12 weeks for the open-inquiry project.
